The production for the new TV anime in the "Wataru" series, titled "Mashin Souzouden Wataru," has been confirmed! A glimpse of the silhouette of the upcoming protagonist is revealed.

The upcoming TV anime "Mashin Souzouden Wataru" is officially in production, accompanied by the release of an exceptionally exciting video.


The announcement took place during the "Mashin Hero Wataru 35th Anniversary Thanksgiving" event held at Green Hall in Chofu, Tokyo on January 13th. This special event celebrating the 35th anniversary of the "Mashin Hero Wataru" anime series featured key cast members such as Mayumi Tanaka as Wataru, Megumi Hayashibara as Himiko, Tomomichi Nishimura as Shibarak, Koichi Yamadera as Kurama, Kazue Ikura as Toraou, and Yumiko Takahashi from a・chi-a・chi, responsible for the series' theme song.


"Mashin Souzouden Wataru" narrates the tale of a new hero inheriting the legacy of Wataru Senbe, the original protagonist of "Mashin Hero Wataru." An exclusive video unveiled during the event showcases the outline of this fresh hero and the new adversary, Ryujinmaru. Stay tuned for more detailed updates.


The TV anime "Mashin Hero Wataru," which premiered on April 15, 1988, follows the adventures of Wataru Senbe, a spirited fourth-grader driven by a strong sense of justice. The narrative unfolds as Wataru and his friends embark on a quest to save Mt. Sokai from the rule of Emperor Doakda. Following the initial 45-episode run, the second TV series, "Mashin Eiyuden Wataru 2," aired in March 1990, and the third, "Choumashin Eiyuden Wataru," in October 1997. Additionally, in April 2020, a new web animation titled "Mashin Hero Wataru: Seven Souls of Ryujinmaru" released all nine episodes on YouTube. The nationwide screening of a special edited version with new scenes, titled "Mashin Hero Wataru: Seven Souls of Ryujinmaru -Reunion-," sparked widespread discussions.
